About Us
About the Company
Aanii Nichii Drones was founded to combine a passion for aviation, photography, and community storytelling.
The company specializes in capturing aerial perspectives that highlight landscapes, properties, cultural spaces, and community activities. Through professional drone technology and careful planning, Aanii Nichii Drones creates imagery that provides a fresh and engaging perspective.
Operating from Kingston, Ontario, the company serves local communities, businesses, and organizations with safe and reliable drone services.
Paul Carl started out in 2020 as a recreational drone flyer; after obtaining his Advance RPAS Pilot Certification and receiving more and more request for his aerial drone services he officially registered Aanii Nichii Drones in June 2024. Paul is proud that Aanii Nichii Drones follows the social enterprise model which he uses to give back to the community.
Paul is also a member of the Drone Pilot Association of Canada Group and one of the founding members of the local drone operators group Drone Pilots Kingston.

The Meaning Behind the Name
The name Aanii Nichii means “Hello Friend” in the Anishinaabe language.
This greeting reflects the company’s approach to building respectful relationships with clients, communities, and the natural environment. Every project is approached with care, collaboration, and a desire to share meaningful perspectives from above.
Logo and Cultural Significance
The Aanii Nichii Drones logo reflects both aviation heritage and cultural identity.
The circular orange roundel is inspired by the aircraft roundel used by the Royal Canadian Air Force and honours the service of the founder’s stepson as an RCAF pilot.
The bear paw represents the founder’s connection to the Bear Clan, symbolizing strength, protection, and responsibility within Anishinaabe culture.
